IIPM Pune Convocation

Destiny rules our lives and we may rule our destiny through determination and dedication”; said Mr. Abhay Nalawade, CEO-EcoAxis Systems and ex-CEO & MD of Thermax; to the class of 2010 of IIPM-Pune. Mr. Nalawade was the Chief Guest at the convocation ceremony of IIPM Pune held at Hotel “O”, Koregaon Park, Pune on 26th August 2011. He concluded saying, “Youth is full of idealism and ambition but may you combine both in the right proportion.” Prof. Subho Sekhar Bhattacharjee, Dean, Centre for Planning and Entrepreneurship and CEO – Planman Motion Pictures, urged the students to cultivate hobbies beyond their responsibilities. “You must pursue your passion because you are only incidentally a management graduate. There is a lot more to each one of you,” he said. The 2010 batch of the IIPM Pune celebrated its convocation ceremony with the big men from industry highlighting the promising path that lay ahead of them and revealing the secrets of success. The convocation was held for the students of the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programme in Planning & Entrepreneurship. Ms. Manjula Nair, Lead-Marketing, Corporate Communications & CSR, Amdocs India, Mr. Deepak Kulkarni, General Manager – HR, Fulcrum, Mr. Vikram Singh Bhuller, Assistant Vice President & Head Client Origination, CITI Bank, Mr. Rajat Grover, Senior Vice President - Human Capital Management, YES Bank, Mr. Abhishek Mehta, Regional Manager-West, Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd., Mr. Umesh Deshpande, General Manager-Operations, Mercedes Benz, were present as Guests of Honour. They shared their experiences with the outgoing students. Ms. Manjula Nair felt that IIPM is playing a leading role in redefining education and re-engineering it to ensure sustainability with ever-increasing access to a large variety of programmes to meet the changing needs of the society. Then they awarded degrees to the graduates while Mr. Nalawade felicitated students who had won gold and silver medals. Prof. Satyabrata Dutta Gupta, Dean – IIPM Pune; Dr. Debajyoti Majumder, Assistant Dean- Academics, IIPM Pune; Prof. Nupur Bagawade, General Manager-Placements, IIPM Pune and faculty were among those present on the occasion. After the felicitation and award of medals and degrees, the successful candidates proudly threw their hats into the air reflecting their confidence that they are ready to take on the world.
